At 29 metres high, The Podium temporarily made the roof of the Nieuwe Instituut accessible via a 143-step external staircase. Painted a striking pink to increase visibility, MVRDV’s design created a 600 m2 temporary meeting place forming the heart of the 2022 Rotterdam Architecture Month (in June) and continuing its run in July and August as a location for jazz concerts or yoga classes with a view of the city.
