Dubai Harbour Housing Competition

Sasaki was selected to participate in this international design competition to create a new mixed-use housing development on Dubai Harbour. Sitting on the causeway within the heart of Dubai, both sides of the site are bounded by the sea. Two linear parallel sites comprised of 11 individual parcels house 40 individually massed forms united by a transparent ground plane. Building massing is influenced by the organic forms of the sea. The project creates flow, transparency, and a fluidity of visual and physical connection between the two aspects of the site, building a strong link between them and celebrating the development’s place at the water’s edge.
