Schiphol Landside Masterplan
Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, a global hub for air travel, is preparing for its future, expecting an increasing number of passengers. Its landside centre is reaching its capacity limits, posing significant challenges to future development. At the same time, passengers expect a modern, high-quality experience. This requires a comprehensive development strategy with two key goals: optimise capacity and elevate quality, while providing measures regarding climate resilience, sustainable performance and enhanced safety and security. To guide this vision, a high-level Masterplan for landside has been created by UNS, Studio for new Realities and Goudappel which offers strategic solutions to these complex challenges. The strategy and development of different scenarios followed a layered and integrated approach, considering spatial components related to all forms of mobility, as well as public space and real estate potential.
