3XN GXN was unanimously selected as the winner of the architectural competition for the upcoming expansion and transformation of Trapholt, a cultural landmark and renowned museum for modern art, crafts, and design in Kolding, Denmark. The vision for the project builds on its original concept: a museum that grows organically over time. Opening up Trapholt, the design emphasizes principles of transparency, lightness, simplicity, and flexibility both inside the building and across the museum campus. The new addition introduces a dedicated arrival building that restructures the museum’s flow while strengthening the relationship between architecture, landscape, and visitor experience.
