Located on the banks of the Pingshan District’s Yanzi Lake, Shenzhen Natural History Museum is a world-class cultural institution. The museum is dedicated to interpreting the laws of natural evolution, showing the geographies of Shenzhen and its ecology in a global perspective, and actively advocating science. 3XN, B+H and Zhubo Design’s winning design scheme echoes its context: Entitled “Delta”, it rises fluidly from the river delta, inviting visitors and residents to journey along its accessible public rooftop park that extends throughout the building and highlights the Natural History Museum’s organic geometries. The 100,000m² building features exhibition spaces, science education facilities, research spaces, and an outdoor parkland.
