New Silkeborg Museum

Silkeborg Museum is home to some of the oldest and most well preserved bog bodies in the world; the Tollund Man and the Elling Woman. 3XN's design for a new contemporary extension of the Historical Museum in Silkeborg, Denmark consists of three new buildings and a new landscape design, respecting and integrating with buildings already on site. The project seeks to make the institution more welcoming and accessible for visitors as well as creating a stronger identity for the museum through the architecture. It will make the museum a place, where the past comes alive and visitors will get a better understanding of our history and how we arrived at the present.
